Microsoft recently created a video for their sales force to mock Google's Gmail and promote their new cloud strategy, Office 365.
I've been a Gmail user for years now, and am a fan of how Google provides free services in exchange for a few discretely-placed ads. Still, the video is funny.
My favourite line:
"Hey, mailman, are you reading our mail?"
"No, I'm reading EVERYONE's mail!"
Microsoft fails to mention that their Hotmail contains far more ads than Gmail, nor that businesses who pay for Gmail get no ads whatsoever. Therefore, there is actually no reason for a business to switch to Office 365 based on this argument. Pretty weak sales pitch.
So, in the end Microsoft is still more evil than Google, but at least they made a funny video!
